James Walke
I find it increasingly difficult to summarize global themes in my artwork because I am perpetually changing materials, scale and traditions in the service of story-telling. I like telling stories with fragments and artifacts, creating allegories with remnants of situations and objects that are at once familiar, but (I hope) pertain to something more universal. I am very interested in the negotiation of materials within a piece of artwork, and how those conversations find meaning within the viewer; find their way to describe the cluttered poetics of emotional conflict. |
